Car Accident Claims Topeka Man

A Topeka resident was killed recently when the pickup he was riding in was struck by another car on US-75 about nine miles south of Holton. The driver of the other car, a Mayetta woman, was headed east on 158th road and failed to yeild to the pickup, according to authorities. The driver of the pickup, the driver of the other car, and a passenger of the other car were all taken to the hospital after the accident. Their conditions were listed as unknown, serious and fair, respectively.

According to a highway patrol report, (occupants of the pickup) were both wearing safety belts. The report said it wasn't known whether (the car's driver) and her passenger were wearing safety belts.
