A woman from Lawrence was hurt in a car accident on I-70. The 49-year-old woman driver of the car started to leave the road and tried to get back on when she overcorrected and ended up driving off the road and flipping the car.

The accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Friday about two miles east of the Topeka service station, or about 10 miles west of Lawrence.

It is believed she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. She is being treated for her injuries at Kansas University Medical Center. The Kansas Turnpike Authority is investigating the accident. No one else was involved or injured in the crash.
