One Dead And Two Injured In Three Motorcycle Accidents

A rash of motorcylce accidents left one person dead and two others seeking medical treatment on Sunday.

William John Moser, 57, a resident of Liberty, Mo, was killed in Leavenworth County when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid under an oncoming vehicle. The accident occured on Kansas Highway 5 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Authorities say that Moser, who had just purchased the the Harley-Davidson motorcycle the week before, was riding in a group of other motorcyclists, who saw the crash and called police. It is not known whether Moser was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Another crashed involved a Lawrence resident, Brian A. Thornton, 33. Thorton was riding his Honda motorcycle in rural Jefferson County, when he lost control and entered a ditch. Thorton was not wearing a helmet and was immediately taken by helicopter to the Kansas University Hospitial in Kansas City. No word has been given as to his medical condition.

Christopher M. Hultine, 22, was involved in yet another motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon. Hultine's accident occured around 1:40 p.m. when the Honda cycle he was driving when off the road while exiting U.S. Highway 40 onto Kansas Highway 10. He was treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital. At the time of the accident, Hutline was wearing a helmet.
